Inbox Setup

Connect your support inbox to MailBridge in under 2 minutes using email forwarding. No DNS changes, no MX records — just a forwarding rule.

How forwarding works

MailBridge gives every organisation a unique inbound address like abc123@in.mailbridge.ai. You set up a forwarding rule in your existing email provider so that every email sent to your support address (e.g. support@yourcompany.com) is automatically forwarded to that address.

Your original inbox stays exactly as it is. MailBridge receives a copy of each email, triages it, and routes it — without interfering with your normal mail flow.

Gmail

Gmail — set up forwarding
  1. 1

Open Gmail and go to Settings (gear icon) → See all settings.

  2. 2

Click the Forwarding and POP/IMAP tab.

  3. 3

Click Add a forwarding address and enter your MailBridge address (e.g. abc123@in.mailbridge.ai).

  4. 4

Gmail will send a verification email to that address. MailBridge automatically handles the verification — check your MailBridge dashboard within a few minutes and click Confirm.

  5. 5

Back in Gmail settings, select Forward a copy of incoming mail to your MailBridge address.

  6. 6

Choose what to do with the original copy (e.g. Keep Gmail's copy in the Inbox), then save.

If you only want to forward emails from certain senders or with certain subjects, use Gmail filters to forward selectively instead of all mail.

Outlook / Microsoft 365

Outlook — set up forwarding
  1. 1

Go to outlook.com or your Microsoft 365 mail. Click Settings (gear) → View all Outlook settings.

  2. 2

    Navigate to Mail → Forwarding.

  3. 3

Enable forwarding and enter your MailBridge address (e.g. abc123@in.mailbridge.ai).

  4. 4

Tick Keep a copy of forwarded messages if you want a copy to stay in Outlook.

  5. 5

    Save. Forwarding begins immediately.

Other providers

Any email provider that supports SMTP forwarding works with MailBridge. The general steps are:

  1. 1

Find the forwarding or auto-forward setting in your provider's account settings.

  2. 2

Add your MailBridge inbound address as the forwarding destination.

  3. 3

If your provider sends a verification email to the destination, check your MailBridge dashboard — we handle it automatically.

  4. 4

    Enable forwarding and save.

Need help with a specific provider? Email our support team and we'll walk you through it.

Verify your inbox is connected

After setting up forwarding, send a test email to your support address. Within a few seconds it should appear in your MailBridge dashboard under Requests, and be posted to your connected Slack or Discord channel.

If the test email doesn't appear within 60 seconds, double-check that your forwarding rule is enabled and the destination address is exactly correct (no extra spaces).

Multiple inboxes

Need to forward from multiple addresses (e.g. support@ and hello@)? You can forward both to the same MailBridge inbound address — all emails will be triaged and routed the same way. Differentiation by sender address is on the roadmap.
